A couple of weeks ago, I attended the Style is She Fashion Face-Off and despite the cold and rainy weather, we had a great time! Chef Rob's Restaurant and Lounge located in Sandy Springs, GA was the backdrop for a fabulous afternoon of fashion, food, makeovers and networking.

 

During the course of the afternoon, guests enjoyed events such as the "Shoe Walk-Off", Battle of the Mixed Prints and a Mini Thrift Fashion Show, where yours truly was one of the featured models!

Style Wars Thrift Challenge

So...one of my first appearances as Ms. Georgia Plus America was as a judge at the Style Wars Thrift Challenge presented by Thrifting Atlanta!

Several of Atlanta's "HAUTEST" fashion mavens presented various ways to rock their favorite thrifted styles. The event was covered by CNN and was a total blast! Now in case you didn't know, thrift shopping is “en vogue” these days. It's like going on a treasure hunt and you never know what goodies you'll find!  If you are wondering, yes, I am a thrift shopper and approximately 60% of my wardrobe is thrifted!

Meet the new Ms. Georgia Plus America 2013

 

Hey Diva,

That's right...I did it! I won the title of Ms. Georgia Plus America and I'm on my way to the national Miss Plus America Pageant in Monroe, LA this summer! Dreams do come true. The Miss Plus America Organization celebrates the beauty of the plus size woman and provides a platform where she may shine and promote those causes that are near and dear to her heart. Big smooches to my sponsors in the state pageant, as I would not have been able to accomplish any of this without you!

Miss Georgia Plus America: A Queen is Born!

Hey Diva,

So...in case you haven't heard, yours truly will be competing for the title of Ms. Georgia Plus America this coming April! The Miss Plus America Organization celebrates the beauty of the plus size woman and provides a platform where she may shine and promote those causes that are near and dear to her heart. My platform is building self-esteem and promoting a positive body image in young girls.

I am currently partnered with the George Washington Carver Boys and Girls Club where I mentor young girls in the areas of self-esteem and body image and the experience is so rewarding!
