A weekend with my natural hair

Hey Diva!
I’ll be honest; I love my wigs and weaves. For me, they’re accessories… much like earrings, hats, scarves and necklaces. Sometimes, I think people take hair waaaaay too serious. I mean my GAWD, it’s just hair, right?

I Am Not My Hair by India.Arie

I’m going to let you know right here and right now that I don’t care about what the masses are doing or what they think, I love me a nice piece of hair! Long, extra long, curly, body wave, bone straight...I love it all and I like the idea of being able to change it up in the blink of an eye. Oftentimes, I change my hair to coordinate with my  outfit. I even change it depending on my mood!

But this time, I decided to flip the script. For a period of about 18 hours, I decided to rock my own natural hair! Check me out, pretty fly, huh?

I simply washed and conditioned my natural hair and did about 8 - 10 two-strand twists. I let it air dry overnight and the next morning, I untwisted it and fluffed it out. Now... as far as product is concerned, please understand I am NOT endorsing any one particular brand (at least not until a company approaches me to do so). But I just so happen to have a bag full of various natural hair product samples. I accumulated them over the past several months from all the natural hair shows and events I attended so I just started playing with different ones. I think the key to getting a nice curl pattern is to use some type of product of your choice so that pattern holds and your hair stays soft and bouncy!

So diva, what’s your FAVE hair style? Do you have any natural hair tips for the Spoiled Diva?
Until next time.

Smooches,
The Spoiled Diva
