Thrifted Winter Fashion - Birger Christensen Fur Coat

Hi Diva,

Here it is…my latest consignment score. I found this Birger Christensen coat at Finders Keepers in Decatur, GA and it was indeed a find! Birger Christensen is a luxury brand that started in Coppenhagen a long, long time ago. 

Today, they have a boutique there where they also represent and produce designs for other international designers like Givenchy, Helmut Lang, Valentino, Prada and more! Now...I can’t say that I am a fur connoisseur, but I do know that this coat was just too cute and very well maintained to pass up…and I am so lucky to be the new owner!

My favorite design element is the mix of fur textures…and the two side slits gives it the casual look that I prefer. I love that fact that I can dress it down with distressed boyfriend jeans and a turtle neck.

The styling is timeless, so perhaps I can even pass it on to my daughter someday.

DIY - The Maxi Tee

Hey Diva,
I've been somewhat admiring this maxi tee trend so I decided to make my own from a long sleeve David Dart dress I thrifted last fall.
I simply cut off the sleeves and cut slits up to the waist area on both sides and there you have it!

I paired mine with white skinny jeans from Ashley Stewert but I've seen it worn all sorts of ways. One of my faves is with cut off denim shorts and motorcycle boots! Whichever way you choose to rock it, do it like a true DIVA!

So...one of my first appearances as Ms. Georgia Plus America was as a judge at the Style Wars Thrift Challenge presented by Thrifting Atlanta!

Several of Atlanta's "HAUTEST" fashion mavens presented various ways to rock their favorite thrifted styles. The event was covered by CNN and was a total blast! Now in case you didn't know, thrift shopping is “en vogue” these days. It's like going on a treasure hunt and you never know what goodies you'll find!  If you are wondering, yes, I am a thrift shopper and approximately 60% of my wardrobe is thrifted!

A Diva about town!

Oh my goodness! I am feeling oh so dapper in this tuxedo inspired look…the only thing missing is a top hat, right? NOT!

The blazer is by Express and I found it at my local Goodwill. I paired it with a jumpsuit from Arden B that I already had in my closet and a pair of thrifted Bebe peep toes pumps. The leather and feather trim clutch bag by Spoiled Diva byCL Felder tops it all off!

OOTD: Livin' my life like it's GOLDEN!

Happy Friday Diva!

We made it through another week, now it’s time to kick up our heels and enjoy the weekend! After all, Monday will be here again in 15 minutes. Today’s outfit shows off a little more of my playful side with the shorts!

I usually stay away from shorts all together. I mean, with all the rules about “how short is too short “and “which shorts are age appropriate”, I’d just rather not even deal with it! But these denim shorts were so cute with the metallic gold lame’ waistband and metallic gold top-stitching...I just had to give them a try!

I found them at B&R thrift store in Roswell, GA so I paid next to nothing for them. In the same store, just as I was ready to checkout, I spotted the metallic gold lame’ cami! How coincidental is that? I paired them with my white blazer thrifted from Fashion Style Studio, sexy open toed stilettos, the perfect accessories and voila’…New age golden girl!

Diva Dish: Adventures in Thrifting!

Hey Diva!

So…awhile back, I told you how much I am beginning to dig this thing called thrifting. Well guess what…I recently ventured out on my own to see if I could find anything “fit for a Diva”! You see, the thing about thrifting is you kinda have to dig and search a little for the really cool stuff…it’s just so hit or miss! But if you’re a true style maven, you’ll be able to spy a super HAUTE outfit right away. 

This Diva however is still in “thrift” training, but as luck would have it, I did find a few pieces that I can add to my wardrobe! Now all I have to do is add the right accessories and pick out the right hair (yes you read it correctly, hair is just another accessory to me). I can’t wait to get all dolled up and show you the final looks!

OOTD: Thrifting...the new black!

So divas…in case you didn’t know, thrift shopping is totally in vogue these days! Here is one of my very first thrifted outfits, selected and styled by Keren Charles of Two Stylish Kays. It’s a skirt, belted and worn as an empire waist dress and the added Spoiled Diva accessories give it the perfect amount of sass! 

I don't know gals... I just may try this thrifting thing on a regular basis. After all, I'm really digging this look. I guess Thrifting really is the new black! Thanks Keren, I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again…you really know your stuff!
