Miss Georgia Plus America: A Queen is Born!

Hey Diva,

So...in case you haven't heard, yours truly will be competing for the title of Ms. Georgia Plus America this coming April! The Miss Plus America Organization celebrates the beauty of the plus size woman and provides a platform where she may shine and promote those causes that are near and dear to her heart. My platform is building self-esteem and promoting a positive body image in young girls.

I am currently partnered with the George Washington Carver Boys and Girls Club where I mentor young girls in the areas of self-esteem and body image and the experience is so rewarding!

Girls Night out with Beyond Greatness Event Planning

Hey Diva,
Hope  your new year is off to a winning start! Mine most certainly is...so far it's been a whirlwind of event after event after event, but I absolutely love it! I just hope I can keep up.

A few weeks ago, I attended a Girls Night Out soiree hosted by my blogger girlfriend LA Lynn and her best friend of 30 years, Mari of Beyond Greatness Event Planning!

 

The event took place at Crystyles Boutique in the Buckhead district of Atlanta, GA. Crystyles is a fashionista's paradise...and she carries styles for the curvy diva!

 
We had a great time sipping, chatting and nibbling...and the whole evening was topped off with a mini fashion show featuring clothing from Crystyles Boutique!

'The Face' Pop-up Experience at Lenox Mall

Hey Diva,

So…last Sunday, I attended ‘The Face’ Pop-up Experience at Lenox Square Mall in Atlanta, GA and had a blast!  The Face is a new competition reality series in which contestants are challenged and mentored by the world’s most successful and talented supermodels. The series premiers on the Oxygen Network on February 12, 2013 and I will definitely be watching!

I was invited out to the Atlanta pop-up experience by blogger Talking with Tami where I had the chance to channel my inner supermodel! The pop-up experience allowed guests the opportunity to experience the world of modeling via fun, interactive activities.  The first was Digital Video Activation where participants were captured on video giving their most fierce runway walk! The other was Photo Activation where participants had the opportunity to show off their faces by having a variety of pictures taken.  The photos were printed out on the spot and given to us as a FAB keepsake!

This was truly a fun event and I have a feeling the show is going to be a hit. So...will you be watching 'The Face'?
