OOTD: Easy like Sunday morning!

Happy Sunday Diva!
Hope you are making the most of your day! As I started getting ready for Sunday morning worship service, thoughts of my grandma Rose came to mind. She was my everything…so warm and kind and super stylish all at the same time! Today’s outfit was definitely inspired by her.

The dress actually belonged to my Aunt Ida, my grandmother’s youngest sister. Aunt Ida turned 85 years old last week and every time I visit her, I have the best time reminiscing about the “olden days” and hearing stories about my grandma Rose. When I visited Auntie’s house earlier this past week, I decided to plunder her closet (after 85 years of living, you know she has some good stuff tucked away). I found a few pieces of treasure including this dress. I can’t wait to show her my interpretation!

In case you didn't know, I enjoy mixing colors and prints, after all who’s says everything has to match? I chose to wear leopard print pumps with my dress today. I love animal prints and it’s likely you will ALWAYS see me in something with animal print!

What do you gals think, HAUTE or NOT?

Smooches,
The Spoiled Diva

Spoiled Diva Recap: Pampered and Martini's Nite of Luxury Tweet Up - Sol Oasis Nail and Spa Haven

Hey Diva,

About a week ago, I had the pleasure of attending a super FABULOUS tweet-up event hosted by my girl Oh Nikka! at Sol Oasis Nail Spa and Haven. Sol Oasis is tucked away in the Peachtree Hills neighborhood of Buckhead and as I approached the entrance, I immediately noticed how quaint and relaxing the surroundings were with all of the lush greenery and serene landscaping.

Once inside, it was party time! All of my fellow blogger girlfriends came out in their PJ’s (what a cute idea) as requested by the hostess so the whole thing had sort of a slumber party vibe. We were treated to mini facials, mini chair massages and mini martini manicures and pedicures (polish changes) as we chatted, sipped and tweeted the night away!

Sol Oasis offers an array of relaxation and pampering services all suited for a Spoiled Diva, including gourmet organic manicures / pedicures, facials and waxing. Click here to see the full menu of services.

Big smooches to the owner of Sol Oasis, KaSundra Anderson, and her staff…they were wonderful and provided us all with excellent service...Spoiled Diva will most certainly be returning!

OOTD: Don't be Scared...Mix it up!

Who says you can’t mix patterns and prints? This Diva says do whatever makes you feel good as long as the end results are AMAZING! You might want to try selecting patterns and or prints of the same color family. For example reds, oranges and yellows or purples, blues, and greens.

In my case, I paired a yellow, floral print kimono style dress with an orange, Asian print clutch bag (yep you guessed it, I was going for an overall Asian inspired theme). I chose to play up the bronze hues in my clutch bag by adding bronze earrings and animal print stilettos with bronze chain link accents! I topped it all off with a large order of Diva’tude! LOL!
By the way, you can get this Spoiled Diva Clutch Bag here!

As you get to know me, you will find I have very few fashion rules. Not sure if that’s good or bad but I can tell you that no matter what I choose to do…I own it 100%! After all, Spoiled Diva’s set trends; we try not to follow them!

So diva, how would you describe my look, Haute or Not?

Diva Recap: Season 2 Fashion Star Casting Call

Hey Diva!
So…this past Saturday, the reality television series Fashion Star held a season 2 casting call in Atlanta! The series gives unknown designers a shot at launching their collections in three of America's largest retailers: Macy's, H&M and Saks Fifth Avenue.

The casting call was held at Macy’s in Perimeter Mall and you already know the Spoiled Diva had to get in on the excitement! You see, fashion and design is very much a part of my DNA! Having worked as a creative and technical designer, developing apparel for Victoria’s Secret, Fredrick’s of Hollywood, and Reebok to name a few, I can certainly appreciate the art…and the business of fashion!

I arrived on the scene about halfway through the casting call so I missed the bulk of designers vying for a spot on the show (yeah I know…got to be more punctual). Still, I was able to catch up to a few designers and chat a bit with them about their design inspiration, the casting process, etc. Some were even gracious enough to give me a sneak peek at the designs they intended on presenting to the Fashion Star panel which ranged from whimsical and playful, to chic and sophisticated… and everything in between!

Atlanta is full of raw, untapped design talent and I wish them all the best. You never know, one of them might just be the next Fashion Star!

Diva Dish: Adventures in Thrifting!

Hey Diva!
So…awhile back, I told you how much I am beginning to dig this thing called thrifting. Well guess what…I recently ventured out on my own to see if I could find anything “fit for a Diva”! You see, the thing about thrifting is you kinda have to dig and search a little for the really cool stuff…it’s just so hit or miss! But if you’re a true style maven, you’ll be able to spy a super HAUTE outfit right away.

This Diva however is still in “thrift” training, but as luck would have it, I did find a few pieces that I can add to my wardrobe! Now all I have to do is add the right accessories and pick out the right hair (yes you read it correctly, hair is just another accessory to me). I can’t wait to get all dolled up and show you the final looks!

Smooches,
The Spoiled Diva

Diva Recap: Talking With Tami Bloggers Luncheon

On July 11, 2012 one of Atlanta’s HAUTEST bloggers, Talking with Tami, hosted a Bloggers Luncheon at Strip in Atlantic Station. During the course of the afternoon, Tami spoke candidly about her experiences as a blogger and shared some of her personal tricks of the trade in the world of blogging.

As a fledgling blogger, I just knew I had to be there and was so glad I came out! Tami was very open and honest about this thing called blogging. She discussed everything from how to work with brands and how to get on event guest lists to media / press kits and everyone’s favorite topic…how to make MONEY! The afternoon ended with sweet giveaways and awesome swag bags. Thanks Tami, I'm definitely looking forward to installment #2!

Life's a beach!

Oh how I love the beach! There's nothing more serene than walking barefoot along the shoreline with cool, wet sand squishing between your toes. The whole experience is just so ethereal to me!

The beach also provides me with endless design inspiration...can't wait to show you what we have in store for Spoiled Diva by CL Felder this upcoming season!
